About

So you're learning how to play Irish music on the fiddle, whistle, flute, concertina, guitar, pipes, or other melody instrument. If you're anything like me, you want to learn as many tunes as you can, so you can begin to master the music and play in sessions.
People learn in different ways. Some can hear a tune a couple of times and pick it up quickly. Others need to study "the dots" and break it down slowly, line by line, phrase by phrase. Still others learn best by listening to the tune over and over until it sinks in. And some of us use a combination of these three methods. Whatever works for you, works for you.
The tunes on this site, as they're added week by week, will include a slow version to learn by, an at-speed version to play along with, and any notes from the teacher that are relevant to the tune or playing in general. Just knowing that others are learning at the same time you are is often enough accountability to push you to learn.
Let's learn some tunes together!
